DODA: Under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr. Vinod Sharma, a programme was organized today at the CMO Office, to commemorate World Leprosy Day and mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Health officials and staff actively participated in the programme and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening awareness, promoting early detection and ensuring a supportive environment for persons affected by leprosy.

The participants were sensitized about leprosy, its early detection, timely diagnosis, treatment, prevention and the importance of eliminating the stigma associated with the disease. The programme concluded with a collective resolve to contribute towards a healthy, stigma-free and inclusive society, in keeping with the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and the public health goal of leprosy elimination.
