POONCH: The Reform Utsav 2026 campaign  was today launched in District Poonch with the hosting of Gram Sabhas in all 229 Panchayats amid enthusiastic participation of government functionaries and local residents.

The main event was organised at Panchayat Kanuyian, where Assistant Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Sayeed; Assistant Commissioner Development Shakeel Ahmed; Tehsildar Haveli Azhar Majid; Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Sajad Choudhary; Panchayat Officers, Block Development Officers and other concerned officials participated.

A large number of residents attended the Gram Sabha, where detailed discussions were held on the Government schemes, welfare initiatives, developmental requirements and the activities undertaken by different departments in the past years. The officers briefed the participants about the achievements, benefits and implementation of various Government schemes, with special emphasis on ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive the intended assistance.

The participating officers sensitised the people about different welfare and subsidy schemes, the eligibility criteria, application procedures and benefits. Special emphasis was laid promoting   livelihood opportunities and self-employment initiatives of the Government. The locals listened keenly to the officers and appreciated the initiative for generating awareness about the Government schemes and opportunities available to the public.

Emphasis was also laid on the formulation of the Viksit Panchayat Development Plan by incorporating local development priorities and public suggestions. The Reform Utsav aims to strengthen grassroots-level governance, promote transparency, enhance public participation and ensure responsive delivery of Government services through effective functioning of Gram Sabhas.
