HANDWARA: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Police conducted a comprehensive cleanliness drive across Police District Handwara, reaffirming its commitment to cleanliness, hygiene and collective responsibility towards a clean and healthy environment.

The cleanliness drive was carried out at Police Stations Handwara, Vilgam, Kralgund and Qalamabad; Police Posts Langate, Zachaldara, Magam and Chogul; Police Components at Handwara, Vilgam, Chogul, Langate, Zachaldara, Kralgund and Qalamabad, besides other police establishments across the district.

Officers and police personnel participated actively in cleaning office premises, barracks, surrounding areas and public-facing spaces, while ensuring proper collection and disposal of waste.

The initiative reflected the timeless message of Mahatma Gandhi on cleanliness, discipline and civic responsibility, while reinforcing the spirit of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Through such initiatives, J&K Police continues to encourage collective participation, environmental responsibility and community partnership, contributing towards a cleaner, healthier and more responsible society.
