JAMMU: The Law School, University of Jammu in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jammu, successfully conducted an awareness program on "Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)" today. The program aimed to educate participants about the benefits and mechanisms of ADR, a crucial aspect of accessing justice.

The event was held under the guidance of Prof. Seema Rohmetra, Director, The Law School, University of Jammu. Advocate Uma Kapahi, Panel Lawyer DLSA. was the resource person who delivered insightful sessions on ADR.She was accompanied by PLV Ravinder Sharma.

Advocate Uma Kapahi dwelled on the practical aspects of ADR, highlighting its significance in resolving disputes through alternative methods such as mediation, arbitration, and negotiation. She shared valuable insights on how ADR can be used to resolve disputes in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner, while also preserving relationships.

Dr. Monica Narang, Associate Professor delivered the welcome address. Dr. Kartika Bakshi coordinated the program, ensuring its smooth execution. The event underscores the commitment of DLSA and The Law School, University of Jammu, to promote access to justice and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. By organizing such programs, DLSA and The Law School aim to empower students with knowledge about their rights and the various dispute resolution options available to them.
