• Revanth Reddy’s statements reflect Congress’ disrespect for Hindu traditions: Gaurav

JAMMU: BJP J&K Spokesperson and Convener, International Affairs, Gaurav Gupta, today launched a sharp condemnation of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his remarks on Hindu deities.

“Revanth Reddy should straightaway declare the Congress party as the ‘Muslim League Congress Party’. The Congress has launched a systematic campaign against Hindus. Anyone who makes such remarks neither believes in India’s Constitution nor respects India’s culture, their mindset mirrors that of the Mughal invaders,” Gupta said.

He added, “Insulting Hindus and their deities has become a habit for the Congress and its allies. Did only one community vote for the Telangana Chief Minister? Mocking Hindu faith and traditions has become their routine.”

Gupta further stated, “The way Revanth Reddy has made insulting and inappropriate comments about Hindu deities is completely unacceptable. This is the same Chief Minister who proudly said during the Jubilee Hills election that ‘Congress means Muslims, and Muslims mean Congress’. Stand with any community if you wish, we have no objection but abusing Hindu deities will never be tolerated.”

He emphasized, “Reddy’s comments are not just insulting, they are a direct assault on the faith and sentiments of crores of Hindus across India. His statements reflect a pattern of habitual disrespect that multiple BJP leaders have already flagged. The Congress has normalized the mocking of Hindu beliefs and continues to trivialize the religious sentiments of the majority community.”

Gupta added, “Senior BJP leaders like Sudhanshu Trivedi, Prahlad Joshi and Giriraj Singh have already highlighted this trend. This is not an isolated statement, it is a mindset. Standing with any community is never a problem in India’s democracy. But insulting Hindu deities while mixing it with selective political appeals is unacceptable.”

He strongly criticized Reddy’s analogy between Hindu deities and internal Congress appointments, “Faith is sacred. You cannot categorize gods based on marital status, food preferences, or alcohol offerings. This is not political commentary, it is derision. No explanation can hide the insensitivity behind such words.”

Gupta also questioned the Congress leadership’s silence: “If the party disagrees with Reddy, why is there no action? Their silence is not neutrality, it is endorsement.” He concluded with a firm warning “India’s cultural fabric is built on respect. Any attempt to demean Hindu beliefs will be firmly rejected by the people. Leaders in power must remember that political authority never grants the liscense to insult the nation’s faith.”
