BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today chaired a meeting to review district-level measures for managing the stray dog menace, emphasising strict compliance with the directions issued by the General Administration Department (GAD). She stressed that all facilities established for this purpose must remain fully functional with adequate staff so that citizens do not face any inconvenience.
During the meeting, departments apprised the Chair of actions taken. The Deputy Commissioner noted the measures implemented by the Municipal Council, Education Department, Health Department, Rural Development, Animal Husbandry, DYSSO, Police and R&B, ranging from boundary walls in schools, waste management in kindergarten institutions, deployment of volunteers during sports events, awareness in panchayats, barricading at sensitive points, and ongoing sterilisation and geo-tagging work.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to strengthen Animal Birth Control operations, regulate feeding strictly at designated points, and ensure seamless coordination for public safety and timely implementation of Government directions. Among others, the meeting was attended Superintending Engineer, Public Works (R&B) Bandipora, Chief Medical Officer, Bandipora, DySP DAR; District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council Bandipora, Executive Officer, Municipal Committees Hajin/Sumbal and other concerned line departments.
