ANANTNAG: Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) under the Chairmanship of Judicial Magistrate First Class Aishmuqam, Shyam Kumar Sharma, has launched a concerted community initiative aimed at the removal of illegally cultivated cannabis in the locality. The directions were issued to the District Excise and Taxation Department to equip their teams with appropriate machinery for a scheduled clean up of illegally cultivated cannabis.
During the drive Chairman TLSC highlighted the importance of removal of cannabis plants from the locality. Further, he stated that the presence of these plants, which are a source of illegal narcotics, posed a serious threat to the peace, security, and well-being of the society, especially our youth. This drive was being taken to eradicate this menace completely and prevent any illegal activities associated with it.
During the drive, Tehsildar Srigufwara, Naib Tehsildar Aishmuqam, SDPO Pahalgam, SHO Srigufwara and SHO Aishmuqam were also present on the spot to maintain law and order and peaceful execution of the removal process to make this event a success. Chairman also encouraged the locals to remain vigilant and to spread awareness in their communities and emphasized the role of local people in eradicating this menace.
Further, the Chairman said that the Legal Services Committee remains dedicated to empowering the community with legal awareness, facilitating access to justice, and undertaking initiative that protect our youth from the scourge of narcotics and urged every citizen to support these efforts by acting responsibly and reporting unlawful activities. The event concluded with a pledge to remove and aware the people about the harmful effects of cannabis.
