- Directs Measures to Ensure Reforms Benefits Reach Every Citizen
PULWAMA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, today chaired a review meeting at the administrative complex, Pulwama, to assess the implementation of GST Reforms 2025 across the district. During the meeting, State Taxes Officer, Circle Pulwama, presented a detailed overview of the key features of the next-Gen GST reforms.
The DC reviewed the ongoing initiatives and action plan of the State Taxes Department, Legal Metrology, Health Department, and the Industries & Commerce Department, including extensive establishment-to-establishment and market-to-market awareness campaigns and enforcement drives.
Dr. Qayoom issued strict directives to ensure that the benefits of these reforms effectively reach the common citizen. He highlighted the importance of both enforcement and awareness, instructing the concerned officers to conduct regular and intensive inspections through dedicated enforcement squads under the supervision of General Manager, DIC Pulwama to ensure strict compliance with the revised rates.
Highlighting consumer rights, the DC directed that all commercial establishments must prominently display product lists where GST rates have been reduced, ensuring that the public is fully aware of the price benefits under the new reforms.
"GST Reforms 2025 are designed to benefit all stakeholders, promoting economic growth, encouraging consumption, supporting the manufacturing sector, and ensuring direct financial relief to households", said the DC while emphasizing the effective implementation of reforms in the district. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, General Manager DIC Pulwama, State Taxes Officer Pulwama, and senior officers from the Health and Legal Metrology departments.
