• Urges Completion of Digitization 

BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today chaired a meeting of revenue officers at the Meeting Hall, DC Office, to review the progress of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP), SVAMITVA, and NAKSHA initiatives. 

The DC reviewed progress on key agenda points, including the digitization of Jamabandis (Web Halris), completion of Khasras and Khatas tehsil-wise, village-wise updates on ground truthing of maps, status of Map Kaat (insertion of daughter parcels), and overall implementation of the SVAMITVA scheme across the district.

During the meeting, the DC stressed the need to expedite the digitization process and directed all Tehsildars to clear pending records within a stipulated time frame. Pending verifications were instructed to be completed within a week, with SDMs assigned to monitor progress.

Tehsildars were further directed to collect daily reports from Patwaris to ensure accountability and proper tracking of records. The DC also reviewed the status of developmental projects, including the Narbal–Uri National Highway, and instructed Tehsildars to resolve pending Right of Way (RoW) and other land acquisition issues to facilitate smooth execution of works.

Emphasizing efficiency and transparency, the DC highlighted that timely digitization, accurate land records, and proper management of land acquisition are essential for effective governance and improved public service delivery across the district. The meeting was attended by ADC Baramulla, ADC Sopore, SDM Uri, SDM Gulmarg, all Tehsildars, and other senior revenue officers.
