BHADERWAH: The School of Management Studies, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, in collaboration with Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu, organized a one-day Boot Camp on Innovative Business Ideas to promote youth entrepreneurship and startup development in the agriculture sector.

Prof. Rahul Gupta, Rector, Bhaderwah Campus, addressed the gathering online and lauded the initiative for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students. The event was coordinated by Dr. Umesh Choudhary, Incharge Head, SOMS, who welcomed delegates Dr. Hidayatullah Mir, Senior Scientist, KVK Research Centre, and Mr. Sahil Gupta, Manager, Incubation, JKCIP SKUAST Jammu.

Dr. Choudhary emphasized the importance of linking management education with agricultural innovation, while Dr. Mir and Mr. Gupta motivated students to explore agripreneurship through incubation and government-supported programs. Students from MBA, BBA, and B.Com streams presented innovative ideas such as jam manufacturing, organic mushroom drying, walnut processing, Rajma branding, and sustainable farming ventures, which were highly appreciated by the experts.

The event began with a welcome by Ms. Asma Jamil, Faculty, SOMS, and anchoring by Ms. Riya, MBA student. A vote of thanks was presented by Mr. Mohammed Avais, Assistant Professor, SOMS. Faculty members including Dr. Rohit Bhagat, Dr. Ashok, Dr. Subash Chander, Dr. Umar Sadeeq, Dr. Alyas, Ms. Surbi Langeh, Mr. Amit Kumar, Ms. Bhumeeka, and Mr. Mujeeb Sheikh (Assistant Registrar) contributed to the event’s success. The Boot Camp concluded on an inspiring note, encouraging students to innovate in the agri-sector and contribute to the vision of a self-reliant and sustainable India.
