JAMMU: The Central University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range Police Headquarters, Jammu, organized a One-Day National Seminar on “The Vision of Sardar Patel towards Vikshit Bharat@20247” at the Brigadier Rajinder Singh Auditorium to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The Department of Educational Studies hosted the event in association with the Office of the Dean of Students’ Welfare and the Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (DIQAC).

Prof. Asit K. Mantry, Head, Department of Educational Studies, extended a warm welcome to the gathering and highlighted Sardar Patel’s vision as a strong, decisive leader admired not only in India but across the world. He underlined Patel’s unwavering commitment to national unity, affirming that the idea of Akhand Bharat remains unbreakable.

The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, who delivered the keynote address on “The Vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047.” In his address, he emphasized Patel’s farsightedness and his role in laying the foundations of a unified India, urging the younger generation to carry forward his vision to build a progressive and inclusive nation.

Among the distinguished speakers, Prof. A.K. Nanda, Dean, School of Social Sciences, reflected on Patel’s transformative role in shaping the cooperative sector and guiding the bureaucracy in newly independent India. Dr. Shashi Kant. Mishra, Associate Professor, Department of Hindi, spoke on the relevance of revisiting history to rediscover the philosophy of India’s great leaders. Sh. Sanjay Sharma, SSP (Staff Officer to DIG, JSK), shed light on Patel’s monumental role in the unification of princely states, while Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, CU Jammu, remembered Patel’s unparalleled contributions to nation-building, reminding the audience that the present-day India is unimaginable without Patel’s vision and statesmanship.

The seminar also featured a technical session where eleven scholarly papers were presented, offering in-depth discussions on Patel’s role in national integration and his enduring vision for a strong and united India. The technical session was chaired by Prof. J.N. Baliya, with Dr. Jai Bhawani Singh steering the discussions.

In the valedictory session, Prof. Ritu Bakshi, Dean of Students’ Welfare, delivered the vote of thanks. She acknowledged the efforts of the organizing team, including Dr. Mohan Galgotra and Dr. Ravail Singh, and presented a memento to Prof. J.N. Baliya and Dr. Jai Bhawani Singh in recognition of his contribution.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, and researchers, reaffirming the relevance of Sardar Patel’s ideals in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
