SRINAGAR: A five-day workshop on Python for Artificial Intelligence, organized by the Department of Information Technology, was inaugurated at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar by I/C Director (Dean R&C) Prof. Roohie Naaz Mir. The event was attended by HoDs, Associate Dean R&C, faculty members, and participants.
In her address, Professor Roohie Naaz congratulated the Department of Information Technology for organizing the workshop. She highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in today’s world and emphasized the importance of Python as a key tool for developing AI applications.
“Artificial Intelligence is transforming every sector, from healthcare to finance. Python skills will give our students a strong foundation to innovate and excel in this fast-evolving field,” she said. Dr Roohie Naaz also encouraged students to continuously update their skills to keep pace with AI-driven innovation.
In his message, Registrar, NIT Srinagar, Prof. Atikur Rehman said that workshops like these not only enhance technical knowledge but also prepare students for real-world challenges. We are committed to supporting initiatives that foster innovation and learning, he said.
Dr. Shabir Ahmad Sofi, HoD of Information Technology, lauded the overwhelming participation of students from diverse academic backgrounds. He stressed the significance of such workshops in equipping students with skills necessary to excel in a competitive global environment.
The workshop coordinator, Dr. Saniya Zahoor, expressed gratitude to the Director, Registrar, HoD, and the organizing team for their guidance and support. She also elaborated on the applications of Artificial Intelligence across various fields and the crucial role of Python in AI development.
