RAMBAN: The District Administration Ramban today celebrated Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas with great enthusiasm across the district. An awareness-cum-outreach event was organized at Block Khari and Block Batote drawing active participation from the local tribal community comprising men, women, elders and youth.

At Khari, the programme was led by SDM Banihal, Mohammad Naseeb Bajran, along with Tehsildar Khari, Harvir Singh, BDO Khari Urfan Yousuf Khan, Prominent Citizens and officers from line departments. The event aimed to honour the legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his 150th birth anniversary and highlight his unparalleled contribution to India’s tribal heritage, freedom struggle and cultural identity.

During the programme, officers raised awareness about the significance of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas and the inspiring life of Birsa Munda, emphasizing his role in safeguarding tribal rights and promoting social justice. Special focus was laid on spreading information about numerous Government schemes dedicated to the welfare of tribal communities, including livelihood initiatives, educational support, health benefits and social security programmes.

Stalls were set up by the Health, Agriculture, ICDS and Rural Development departments, enabling on-the-spot enrolment of beneficiaries and providing detailed information about scheme-specific benefits.

Addressing the gathering, the SDM said that the Administration is working to ensure inclusive development and empowering tribal communities by providing them access to government services and welfare schemes at their doorstep. He lauded the enthusiastic participation of the tribal population and urged them to take full advantage of the opportunities being extended through such outreach initiatives.
