KISHTWAR: The Lead Bank Office Kishtwar is organizing a DEAF Account Settlement Mega Awareness Camp on 5th December 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Conference Hall, DC Office, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Pankaj Kumar Sharma.
The camp forms part of the nationwide three-month âAwareness Campaign (Aapki Poonji Aapka Adhikar)â (OctoberâDecember 2025) on unclaimed assets in the financial sector, titled âYour Money, Your Rightâ, launched by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, in coordination with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and insurance regulatory authorities.
Representatives from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), other financial institutions, district administration and banks will be present during the camp to provide on-the-spot guidance and settlement assistance to the public.
The primary objective of the camp is to spread awareness about DEAF accounts, trace depositors and facilitate settlement of accounts that have remained inoperative for more than 10 years.
Citizens are being encouraged through BLBC meetings and other outreach programs by banks and Financial Literacy Centres (FLCs) to attend the camp with valid identity proof and supporting documents to check the status of their unclaimed deposits. Verified claims will be disbursed to the rightful claimants on the spot during the camp.
