RAJOURI: The District Administration Rajouri today celebrated Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas with great fervour at Dak Bungalow Rajouri. The event was held under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Malikzada Sheraz-ul-Haq, who presided over the celebrations.
As part of the commemoration, the government departments set up informative stalls showcasing their schemes, achievements and services. The ADDC inspected the stalls and appreciated the efforts of officers for highlighting initiatives aimed at the welfare of tribal communities.
A vibrant cultural programme was also organised featuring folk songs by students from the Pahari Hostel and Gujjar Hostel, beautifully portraying the rich tribal culture of the region. Students of EMRS also participated and presented an impressive skit on the life of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, highlighting his valour, contributions and immense role in Indiaâs tribal movement.
In his address, the ADDC lauded the efforts of all participating departments and institutions for making the event meaningful. He emphasised the importance of preserving tribal culture and promoting the welfare of tribal communities through effective implementation of government schemes. During the event, meritorious students were felicitated for their outstanding performances and contributions.
A live broadcast of the Prime Ministerâs address was also organised in the Conference Hall of Dak Bungalow, which was attended by officers and participants. The programme was coordinated by District Tribal Officer Abdul Raheem, who worked closely with all departments to ensure the successful conduct of the event. Prominent officers present on the occasion included PO ICDS Harpal Singh, ACR Mohd Jahangir Khan, Deputy Director Employment Mohd Nawaz, besides several district and sectoral officers.
