AWANTIPORA: Police in Awantipora organised an anti-drug awareness programme at the Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre, Tral, as part of its intensified drive against substance abuse in the Police District. The programme was headed by SHO Police Station Tral.
During the event, medical experts, counsellors, and police officers sensitised the participants about the devastating physical, psychological and social consequences of drug addiction. Speakers stressed the importance of early intervention, rehabilitation, and community cooperation in tackling the drug menace.
Officers urged the youth to stay away from drugs and appealed to the general public to come forward with information about drug peddlers so that strict action can be taken against those involved in promoting the drug trade.
The programme witnessed active participation from youth, community members, and staff of the centre. J&K Police reaffirmed its commitment to creating a drug-free society through continuous awareness, enforcement, and rehabilitation efforts.
