POONCH: The Phase-I of the 150 Years of Vande Mataram Commemoration, which began on 7th November, concluded today with a vibrant closing ceremony held here at the Sports Stadium.   Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma graced the event as the Chief Guest.

The ceremony commenced with the powerful mass singing of “Vande Mataram”, spreading patriotic fervour across the venue. Students from different schools presented patriotic songs, reflecting humanitarian values of unity, respect and national harmony. An energetic police band performance further thrilled the audience.

The Deputy Commissioner felicitated winning students and schools of district-level competitions, including essay writing, poster making, mass singing of Vande Mataram, debate and quiz competitions.

Reaffirming the spirit of national unity and humanitarian service, all participants took a pledge to uphold peace, harmony and collective responsibility as part of the commemoration.

The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik; Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Mohammad Sayeed; DySP Headquarters, Neeraj Kumar; Dy SP DAR, Shashikant Raina and several senior district officers.
