UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, today chaired a meeting with vendors and representatives of various agencies associated with the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana to review the progress of the scheme in the district.
SE JPDCL presented a detailed overview of the scheme implementation. He briefed the DC about the total number of applications received, cases where vendors have already been allotted, pending applications and the number of successful installations completed so far.
While interacting with vendors and contractors, the DC sought comprehensive feedback on the challenges faced during execution. She emphasized the importance of active coordination between JPDCL and the empanelled vendors to bridge the gap between applications received and pending installations.
The DC directed all concerned officers and vendors to intensify awareness efforts to motivate the public to avail the benefits of this flagship scheme. She instructed the vendors to accelerate the installation of pending solar panels and ensure timely completion of all allotted cases.
Beneficiaries of the scheme also shared their experiences during the meeting, highlighting the substantial reduction in their electricity bills after the installation of solar panels in their homes.
The DC urged the vendors and contractors to expedite the overall progress and appealed to the public to come forward and avail the benefits of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Later, the Deputy Commissioner felicitated proactive beneficiaries who have played a significant role in promoting the scheme within their respective areas.
