JAMMU: As part of the ongoing Commemoration of 150 Years of National Pride – “Vande Mataram” (Phase-I), the Cultural Unit of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) Jammu, today organised two vibrant thematic events at PM Shri Government Higher Secondary School, Khanna Chhargal and Government High School, Chak Largan.

At PM Shri Government Higher Secondary School, Khanna Chhargal, the programme featured a Symposium and a Painting Competition, both themed around patriotic values and the legacy of Vande Mataram.

As many as 10 students participate in the Symposium Competition. First position was bagged by Danish Thakur (Class 12th) and 2nd position by Kanika Thakur (Class 10th) while Suhani Sharma (Class 9th) bagged 3rd Position.

In the painting competition, Danish Thakur (Class 12th) clinched first position among 15 participating students. The 2nd Position went to Rukhsana (Class 9th) & 3rd Position was shared by Nazma Bibi (Class 8th) and Diksha (Class 9th). The competitions were judged by   Jabeena Akhtar,   Padmani Khajuria and   Sonika Salathia.

The Chief Guest, Principal of the school Anita Sharma appreciated the Cultural Unit of DIPR for organising meaningful activities that instill patriotic values and creativity among students. Similarly, a painting competition was organised at Government High School, Chak Largan, witnessing enthusiastic participation from 25 students. The 1st Position was won by Nimesha (Class 8th), 2nd Position by Sunakshi (Class 9th) and 3rd Position by Vishnavi (Class 8th).

The evaluation was conducted by Cultural Assistants, Anil Kumar and Amit Kumar of the Cultural Unit, DIPR Jammu. The School Headmaster, Saroj Rajput applauded the Cultural Unit for its efforts in spreading awareness about national heritage and encouraging young students to express their patriotic spirit through art.

Both events successfully celebrated the enduring legacy of “Vande Mataram” and highlighted the role of youth in preserving India’s cultural and patriotic identity under the guidance of Joint Director Information, Jammu, Deepak Dubey and supervised by Cultural Officer, Mukesh Kumar.
