JAMMU: Government Degree College Marh today organized an impactful awareness lecture focusing on tobacco control and the importance of the child helpline-1098 under the “No Tobacco Campaign 3.0. The programme was organized by Prahari club of the college in collaboration with Child protection unit district Jammu. Principal of the College, Prof. Ramneek Kour presided over the event.

Protection Officer, Sheraz Inayat Malik and Coordinator Child helpline Jammu, Pinki Jain were the resource persons. Malik highlighted the rising health concerns associated with tobacco use, especially among youth and emphasized the legal measures in place under COTPA. Ms. Jain apprised the students about the child helpline (1098) service and encouraged the students to spread awareness within their communities to enable vulnerable children to access timely assistance.

The programme concluded with an interactive session where the students and faculty raised questions and shared insights. The faculty members present at the session were Prof. Rahul Sharma, Dr. Balwinder Saini, Prof. Sachin Kumar and Ravi Kumar. The program was coordinated by Prof. Malti Rajput, convener, Prahari club and vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Sheetal Devi.
