RAMBAN: District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today convened a meeting with representatives of various political organisations to inform them about the two-day Special Voter Enrolment Drive scheduled for October 10 and 11, 2026 across the district.

During the meeting, the DEO informed that the District Election Cell has made elaborate arrangements to ensure that every eligible citizen gets an opportunity to register as a voter. He called upon political representatives and concerned officials to actively spread awareness about the drive and encourage eligible citizens to register themselves as voters.

The drive is being conducted as part of the initiative launched by the Chief Electoral Officer Jammu and Kashmir to enroll all remaining eligible voters. The Special Voter Enrolment Drive will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at all polling stations across Jammu and Kashmir during the two-day period.

The drive aims to facilitate the enrolment of eligible voters, enable existing voters to update their electoral details and strengthen democratic participation by ensuring an inclusive and comprehensive electoral roll.

The DEO urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination to ensure maximum public participation, particularly by eligible citizens who are yet to register as voters. He stressed that concerted efforts must be made to achieve the objective of ā€œNo Voter to Be Left Behindā€ and ensure that every eligible citizen is able to exercise their democratic right. The meeting was attended by ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo along with other concerned officers and representatives of political parties.
