HANDWARA: In a significant action against drug-related activities, Police arrested a drug peddler in Handwara and recovered charas-like substance from his possession. A police party during naka checking at Chogul intercepted a suspicious person, identified as Bilal Ahmad Bhat son of Sonuallah Bhat resident of Awoora Muqam, Kupwara. During search, Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 253/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Handwara, and further investigation has been initiated. Police reiterates its commitment to combating the drug menace and urges the general public to cooperate with the police by sharing credible information about drug-related activities.
