BARAMULLA: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining, J&K Police in Baramulla conducted enforcement action at Chakloo and Khadiniyar to curb the illegal extraction and deposition of sand.

During a raid at Chakloo, 03 motors installed on boats and being used for the illegal extraction of sand were seized. Necessary action under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act was initiated through the District Mineral Officer (DMO), Baramulla.

In a separate action at Khadiniyar, information regarding the deposition of illegally extracted sand was acted upon, and necessary proceedings under the MMDR Act were initiated through DMO Baramulla. Police reiterated its commitment to curbing illegal mining and protecting natural resources. Strict action will continue against those found involved in such unlawful activities.
