GANDERBAL: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Ganderbal, in collaboration with MY BHARAT, organized a ‘Yuva Sanwad Mela’ under the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – 100 Week Sankalp Abhiyan”, with the theme “Mera Swasthya, Mera Garv (Month 1)”.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Jamsheeda Akhter, NSS Programme Officer-cum-Nodal Officer, MY BHARAT, and aimed at creating awareness among youth about healthy lifestyles, substance-abuse prevention, and the importance of building a drug-free society.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Rafiq Ahmad Peerzada appreciated the efforts of the NSS Unit and encouraged students to become active ambassadors of a healthy and drug-free society. He emphasized the important role of youth in shaping a healthier, stronger and more progressive nation.
Dr. Farooq Ahmad, the resource person, delivered an informative session on healthy living and highlighted the physical, mental and social consequences of substance abuse. He also sensitized students about adopting healthy habits and making informed lifestyle choices.
The session was moderated by Lubna, while Sahil Yaseen extended active student coordination and support during the programme.
Around 60 enthusiastic students participated in various activities, including an interactive student dialogue, awareness rally, Nukkad Natak and dramatic performance. The activities provided an engaging platform for students to express their views and spread the message of health, wellness and a substance-free lifestyle.
The programme concluded with a collective commitment by the participants towards youth empowerment, healthy living and the vision of a drug-free society, reaffirming their resolve to contribute towards building a healthier and stronger Viksit Bharat.
