- Emphasizes early completion of digitization of Jamabandis
REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik today chaired a meeting to review performance of the Revenue department in the district. The meeting focused on strengthening the functioning of the revenue administration and ensuring timely redressal of public issues. The DC took a detailed assessment of key areas including land acquisition cases, digitization of Jamabandies, geo-referencing of cadastral maps, and revenue court cases. ADC Rakesh Kumar, ACR Nitin Verma, SDMs, all Tehsildars and other officers were present in the meeting.
Reviewing the ongoing digitization of Jamabandies, the DC assessed the Tehsil-wise progress of Geo-referencing of Cadastral Maps. She directed the concerned officers to expedite the remaining work and ensure early completion. She emphasized that timely digitization would enhance transparency, improve land record accessibility and provide significant benefits to the public.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of eviction of encroachments from State land. She instructed revenue officers to intensify anti-encroachment drives, submit updated reports and take strict action as per norms to safeguard government land.
Additionally, the DC reviewed the status of pending Revenue Court cases, stressing the need for their timely disposal. She urged officers to prioritize old cases, adhere to prescribed timelines, and ensure regular hearings for quick resolution. She also reviewed Tehsil-wise progress under the SVAMITVA Scheme, emphasizing the importance of completing property card preparation and verification at the earliest to extend schemeâs benefits.
The DC further reviewed the progress of land acquisition cases and directed officials to expedite processing, remove bottlenecks and ensure timely release of funds. She also reviewed the status of complaints received on the SATARK NAGRIK Portal and JK SAMADHAN, underscoring the need for prompt, transparent and time-bound disposal to strengthen citizen-centric governance.
DC Malik also assessed the status of SDRF cases and reviewed the extent of agricultural land damage caused by recent rains. The DC directed officers to ensure timely verification, processing, and disbursal of relief to the affected beneficiaries. She further reviewed the status of SRO-43 cases, instructing officers to process all pending cases promptly and ensure that eligible families receive benefits without delay.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the sanctioned strength and vacancy position in the department. She directed that all vacant posts be filled at the earliest and asked officers to take up the matter with higher authorities to ensure timely recruitment and strengthen manpower availability in revenue offices.
