UDHAMPUR: District Administration Udhampur today organized an impressive awareness event and pledge-taking ceremony to mark the 5th anniversary of the Nasha Mukti Bharat Abhiyan, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating substance abuse. The event was held in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.
The programme was held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai and was attended by ADDC Jugal Kishore, PO Poshan Subash Dogra; GM DIC Kishore Singh Katoch; Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh; ACR Dr. Umesh Shan and other senior government functionaries.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the impactful presentation by the artists of the Satya Rishi Group on the theme of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. She emphasized that the district has conducted a series of awareness and enforcement activities under the campaign to sensitize the public about the catastrophic consequences of drug abuse. She highlighted the importance of community involvement in the fight against drugs and underscored the crucial role of youth in building a healthy, progressive society.
The DC further stated that the primary objective of the Nasha Mukti Bharat Abhiyan is to educate participants about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse. Stressing the urgent need for collective action, she reiterated that awareness and education are the most powerful tools in the fight against drug abuse. She urged all institutions to act as strongholds of discipline, awareness and social responsibility in the journey towards a drug-free India.
The artists of the Satya Rishi Group presented a powerful Nukkad Natak on the theme, which was highly appreciated by all participants. Later, participants took a solemn pledge to support the Nasha Mukti Bharat Abhiyan and remain committed to creating a drug-free society.
