DODA: To mark the 5th anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the Health Department and Educational Institutions organized a series of awareness activities in District Doda, today. The Health Department, under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer Dr Om Kumar and Block Medical Officers, organized a series of awareness sessions across multiple locations in the district.
Health staff sensitized the general public including students about the objectives and initiatives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, highlighting the importance of community participation in creating a drug-free society. The participants took solemn pledge, reiterating their commitment to work collectively to eradicate the menace of drugs from society.
Interactive discussions were also held, encouraging participants to share their views on combating substance abuse within their communities. The staff highlighted the role of families and society in supporting individuals struggling with substance dependence. Meanwhile, schools across the district organized varied awareness activities to mark the 5th Anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) on Nov 17 and Nov 18, 2025.
During the district-wide campaign, educational institutions organized essay writing, slogan writing, poster-making and quiz competitions for students, all focused on spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The activities provided a positive platform to students to showcase their creativity and express their commitment towards building a drug-free society.
The two-day observance culminated with a Mass Pledge Ceremony, as thousands of students and teachers across the district vowed to abstain from drugs and contribute to the creating a safe, healthy and addiction-free community.
The DC lauded the School Education Department for effectively mobilizing schools and organizing meaningful events aimed at guiding the youth towards positive choices. He highlighted the significance of such initiatives in strengthening moral values, shaping responsible citizens and raising awareness about the risks associated with substance abuse.
