SRINAGAR: Filmmaker Tashi Dawa, whose short film “The Last Drop” won the Best Short Film Award, was formally presented with the trophy, shawl, and certificate at a simple yet heartfelt ceremony of Kashmir World Film Festival (KWFF) held today at a local hotel.

Due to flight delays, Dawa was unable to attend the official award ceremony held yesterday, and the organisers arranged a special presentation to honour his achievement.

The event was attended by Festival Director, and jury members Bharat Kanhere, Shafqut Habib, and Mahanteshwar Bhosage, along with guest of honour Lalit Parimoo, who congratulated the young filmmaker for his remarkable work.

“The Last Drop”, directed by Tashi Dawa in collaboration with Thigspa and Tsering Wangdus, has been widely appreciated for its powerful storytelling and visual depth, capturing the delicate relationship between nature and human endurance.

The ceremony concluded with words of encouragement from the jury and the festival team, highlighting the importance of recognizing and supporting emerging voices in cinema.
