AWANTIPORA: Police in Awantipora commemorated the 150th anniversary of India’s National Song, “Vande Mataram,” with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Special exhibitions including patriotic songs, were organized at public places across Awantipora, Pampore, Tral, and Khrew to mark the occasion.
The celebrations aimed to remind citizens of the historical and cultural significance of Vande Mataram — a song that inspired generations during India’s freedom struggle and continues to evoke national pride and unity.
Senior officers of Police District Awantipora, along with officers and personnel from various police stations including Civil Administration participated in the event and urged everyone to uphold the spirit of patriotism, unity, and brotherhood embodied in the song. The programme concluded with a pledge to preserve and promote the ideals of patriotism and national pride that Vande Mataram represents.
