• DC leads pledge, district-wide awareness events

RAMBAN: To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the District Administration Ramban on Tuesday organized a series of awareness events across the district, reaffirming its commitment to building a drug-free society. At the District Headquarter Ramban, Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Alyas Khan administered the Nasha Mukt pledge to officers, officials, prominent citizens, youth, and students, urging them to actively participate in spreading awareness and guiding others away from the menace of drug abuse. 

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Varunjeet Singh Charak and Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shokat Hayat Mattoo and other officers were also present on the occasion. Earlier, a mass awareness rally was taken out in Ramban town, in which officers, officials, teachers and students from different institutions enthusiastically participated. Holding banners and placards, the participants raised slogans encouraging a collective fight against substance abuse.

Across all Sub-Divisions, Tehsils, Blocks, Panchayat and educational institutions, a series of competitions—including debate, painting, essay writing and slogans writing—were organized to engage youth and educate them on the harmful impact of drugs. These activities witnessed vibrant participation, reflecting the growing awareness among young minds.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that drug abuse poses a serious threat to society and called for coordinated efforts from all stakeholders to eradicate this challenge. He stressed the need for community involvement, continuous awareness and proactive measures to ensure that the district moves steadily toward becoming Nasha Mukt. The DC appreciated the participation of students, officers and civil society members and asked them to continue such campaigns with greater vigor.
