BARAMULLA: The Police Drug De-Addiction Centre, Baramulla, in collaboration with Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Nihalpora, organized an awareness program aimed at sensitizing students about the harmful effects of drug addiction and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The event was attended by students, teachers, and members of the police de-addiction team.
The SHO of Police Station Pattan addressed the gathering, highlighting the growing menace of drug abuse and the proactive measures undertaken by police to curb the spread of narcotics. He underlined the crucial role of educational institutions and youth in creating a drug-free society.
Senior Lecturer Mr. Zahoor Ahmad delivered an insightful talk on the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug abuse, encouraging students to adopt healthy habits and positive activities. The de-addiction team from Baramulla elaborated on the signs of addiction, preventive strategies, and available rehabilitation support, emphasizing the value of early intervention.
Vice Principal Mr. Mudasir Kalim appreciated the efforts of Baramulla Police and stressed the need for regular awareness initiatives within educational institutions. He urged students to act as ambassadors of positive change and contribute towards building a safer community.
The event concluded with a joint pledge by students, teachers, and police personnel to continue efforts for a drug-free future through sustained awareness and collaborative action.
