DODA: To commemorate the 5th Anniversary of the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), a series of impactful awareness activities including slogan writing, essay writing and painting competitions were organised at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Doda.
The Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW) under Mission Shakti, Department of Social Welfare, organised the programme under the Nasha Mukt initiative to educate students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to motivate them to embrace a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Students were also informed about the National Toll-Free Drug De-addiction Helpline: 14446 for support related to substance abuse.
During an interactive awareness session, Gender Specialist, Humerah Balwan sensitised the students about the societal factors that often mislead and entrap individuals in drug abuse. She elaborated on preventive strategies, the importance of early intervention and the vital role of youth in making informed and responsible choices. She further encouraged the students to engage in sports and other constructive activities that promote physical and mental well-being.
Students from different classes participated with great enthusiasm, creatively expressing through paintings, essays and slogans the dangers of addiction and the significance of building a drug-free society. Their contributions powerfully conveyed their commitment towards promoting a healthier, safer environment for future generations.
These competitions not only strengthened awareness but also empowered young minds to serve as ambassadors of the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan within their homes and communities.
