- Director Horticulture hands over certificates to trainees
RAJOURI: Director Horticulture Jammu, Gul Sayed today gave away certificates to seventy-eight students who successfully completed the one-month certificate course on “Fruit/Vegetable Value-Addition” here at Government Degree College, Thanamandi.
The programme was organized in the presence of the Principal of the College, Dr. Farooq Ahmed, faculty members, Chief Horticulture Officer, Susheel Angurana, Assistant Director, Sunil Gupta, District Horticulture Officer, Shafkat Hussain Khan, Subject Matter Specialist, Arshad Jameel & Manager Cum Chemist, Amit Sharaf.
The Director Horticulture Jammu appreciated the college and the department for imparting skill-oriented training to students to promote value addition, processing and entrepreneurship among the youth. Later, the Director Horticulture Jammu along with the team attended an Awareness Camp organised at Churung (Hasplote), Thanamandi by the Chief Horticulture Officer under MIDH.
Speaking at the event, the Director highlighted the benefits of different schemes, especially those related to orchard development, protected cultivation, ultra high density plantation, nurseries and value-addition units. Afterwards, the Director chaired a meeting with the Chief Horticulture Officer and the district staff, reviewing ongoing departmental activities in the District.
