UDHAMPUR: Member Legislative Assembly Chenani, Balwant Singh Mankotia today flagged off a group of 25 farmers on exposure visit to Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology, Jammu.
The farmers drawn from the Sub Division Udhampur and other parts were sponsored under the HADP Project “Promotion of Commercial Floriculture.” During the tour, the farmers would be acquainted to latest innovations and technological interventions introduced in the field of Agriculture.
The farmers would learn by seeing demonstrations, farm experiments, plant varieties and trials being conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra in cultivation of floriculture, cereals and vegetables.
The farmers would also interact with University Scientists, extension staff and get exposure to new ideas, crops and technologies from other regions. They will also gain knowledge about art of cultivating, managing improved flower and ornamental plants and their products.
