JAMMU: The Government College of Education (GCOE), Jammu on Friday organized a special screening of an educational documentary on tobacco addiction as part of its ongoing commitment to youth awareness and drug abuse prevention. The event was held under the banner of the NCORD Committee, headed by Dr. Ramzan Ali. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Shubhra Jamwal and Prof. Roopa, who ensured smooth conduct of the session and facilitated meaningful interaction among the participants.

The documentary highlighted the harmful effects of nicotine, the neurological impact of tobacco consumption, and the growing need for preventive education among young learners. Principal of the College, Dr. Jyoti Parihar emphasized the importance of sensitizing students about the ill effects of substance abuse. She appreciated the NCORD Committee for consistently working to create a healthier, drug-free academic environment. Dr. Parihar encouraged students to become ambassadors of awareness and carry forward the message of wellness in society.

Faculty members, student volunteers, and NSS members attended the programme with enthusiasm. The session concluded with a brief discussion in which students shared their reflections on the documentary and pledged to make informed choices for a better future.
