POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma today inaugurated a three-day Free Artificial Limbs and Assistive Devices Camp, organised by Pritam Spiritual Trust in collaboration with the Indian Army and the Civil Administration.

The camp features a specialised team of skilled technicians from BMVSS, Jaipur, who are carrying out on-spot assessment, measurement and fitting of artificial limbs. Besides prosthetic support, the camp is also distributing hearing aids, crutches, walking sticks, tricycles and wheelchairs to eligible beneficiaries.

Speaking at the inauguration, Prof. Jagbir Singh, President, Pritam Trust, expressed gratitude to all supporting agencies and reiterated the Trust’s long-standing commitment to the welfare of differently abled persons in the region.

The event witnessed the presence of several government functionaries and civil society members, including SSP PCR Srinagar, Rayaz Tantray; ACR Mohd. Sayeed; Ex MlC/Deputy Speaker, Jahangir Mir; Col Anil Bhatt (Retd.); Senior Advocate Mohd Zaman; Principal, Zia-ul-Uloom School Waheed Banday; Principal Boys Hr.Sec.Poonch Rupinder Singh, Social activist S. Surjan Singh, and others.

Also present were Senior Trustee Pritpal Singh, Jasbir Kaur, Rydhampreet Singh, Priyanka Singh, along with senior members S. Kulwant Singh, Chanchal Kour, Radha Bhatt and others. The camp will continue for three days, providing vital mobility and assistive support to persons with disabilities from across the district.
