• DC administers Nasha Mukht Pledge among participants

SHOPIAN: As part of the nation-wide celebration of 5th anniversary of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the district administration Shopian today conducted an awareness camp at Mini Secretariat Shopian. The event highlighted the significance of preventive education, the role of families and schools in early identification and the collective responsibility of society in curbing drug abuse.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta attended the programme and administered Nasha Mukt Pledge among the participants. The awareness camp was attended by a diverse gathering of citizens who witnessed the virtual telecast of the National program also.

The programme aimed to reiterate that the objective of NMBA is not only to raise awareness but also to build a sustained behavioural change through continuous participation of institutions and communities. The programme concluded with participants reaffirming the district’s commitment to a healthy and drug-free future. The Social Welfare Department, as the Nodal Agency for the programme will conduct awareness activities in the coming weeks as part of a sustained district-level campaign against substance abuse. The event was attended by ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, besides other district and sectoral officers and officials.
