• Stresses strengthening of anti-drug measures at grassroots level

RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired the 39th District Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) meeting at the Conference Hall of the DC Office to review and intensify efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure the effective implementation of the Nasha Mukht Abhiyan in the district.

During the meeting, the DC issued a series of directives aimed at strengthening monitoring and enforcement at the grassroots level. He directed the Tehsildars to convene meetings of village-level committees to closely monitor drug-related activities and to enhance community-based surveillance. He further instructed them to submit proof of red entries in all drug-related cases to ensure proper documentation and swift action.

Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri stressed the need to widen CCTV coverage, particularly in vulnerable areas and called for strict vigilance on bhang cultivation. He also directed officers to regularly inspect and review CCTV footage of medical shops in rural areas to curb any illegal sale of psychotropic substances.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the district administration’s commitment to eliminating the drug menace and urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination to protect the youth and society from the threat of substance abuse.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kalakote, Tanvir Ahmed, ADC Rajouri, Chander Prakash, PO ICDS Harpal Singh, ACR, Mohd Jahangir Khan, Principal GDC Rajouri ,Zameer Mirza, CEO Rajouri, Mohd Hafeez, DSWO ,Abdul Raheem, Tehsildars and other district and sectoral officers.
