- Dedicates State-of-the-Art Library & Open Gym to Kendriya Vidyalaya students
KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today inaugurated a two-day workshop on Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) of Physical Health Education and Headmasters of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalayas of Jammu & Kashmir UT here at Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathua. The CPD workshop has been designed to build the capacity of educators through structured sessions on innovative pedagogies, student engagement frameworks, leadership development and emerging academic trends. Expert resource persons will conduct interactive modules aimed at improving classroom delivery and overall institutional functioning.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also inaugurated the newly constructed state-of-the-art Library and an Open Gym on the KV Kathua campus. The Library, equipped with spacious reading corners and diverse learning material, is expected to strengthen academic support for students. The Open Gym will promote physical fitness and outdoor recreation, complementing the school’s focus on holistic development.
The Deputy Commissioner interacted with the teaching faculty, staff members and students, and took stock of the facilities created under the school development plan. He appreciated the initiatives taken by the school administration to upgrade academic and sports infrastructure and emphasised the significance of continuous professional upskilling for teachers to meet evolving educational requirements.
Rajesh Sharma encouraged students to make full use of the library and fitness infrastructure for their academic growth and overall well-being. The staff briefed him about ongoing academic activities, upcoming initiatives and the support being extended under PM Shri Schools.
