DODA: An awareness programme on the health hazards of Tobacco consumption was held today here at Government Higher Secondary School Boys Thathri. The program was hosted on the directions of Chief Medical Officer Dr Om Kumar and under the guidance of BMO Thathri Dr Shafqat Javed Zargar.  Dr Shazia Shakeel from CHC Thathri was the resource person. Rinku Rao- NCD Counsellor and Pooja Devi, Adolescent Female Health Councillor and other staff of the CHC were also present.

The event was marked by the active involvement of students, reflecting a strong united front against tobacco. Various activities and speeches were also organized to further highlight the detrimental impact of tobacco on health and the environment.

Dr Shazia Shakeel spoke about the value of life and emphasized on the need to take care of the same. She said that students need to be sensitized about the harmful effects of tobacco use. She said that one of the major objectives of the program was to engage with the students of the college so that messages will go to a broader section of the society.
