KATRA: Under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) implementation at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), the university has earned an “A” ranking from NPTEL, placing it among the top 80–100 technical institutions across the country. This prestigious recognition reflects the academic excellence and collaborative efforts of SMVDU’s faculty and students.
The award was received by Prof. Amit Kant Pandit, Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for NPTEL at SMVDU, during the NPTEL North Zone SPOC Felicitation Workshop held on July 12, 2025, at IIT Kanpur. Prof. Pandit lauded the consistent dedication of SMVDU’s students and faculty, which led to this commendable achievement. He also announced that SMVDU has once again secured an “A” grade for the January–May 2025 session in the NPTEL Local Chapter evaluations. In recognition of his sustained contributions and active engagement as SPOC, Prof. Pandit was felicitated during the workshop with a certificate of appreciation.
Looking ahead, Prof. Pandit outlined new initiatives aimed at deepening the integration of NEP through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Expressing optimism about SMVDU’s future trajectory, he stated his aspiration for the university to enter the elite group of top 20 institutions (A+++) with distinguished performance in upcoming sessions. He extended his sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor for unwavering support in promoting NEP-aligned educational strategies and fostering a culture of digital and lifelong learning at SMVDU.
