KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma today convened a comprehensive review meeting with the stakeholder departments to assess the six-year Annual Action Plan under the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY). PMDDKY is a central government program aimed at improving agriculture in low-productivity districts by enhancing irrigation, promoting crop diversification, and improving credit and storage facilities for farmers.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the significance of meticulous planning, inter-departmental coordination, and strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) Preet Pal Singh,Central Nodal Officer. â€œAll proposed activities must be fully aligned with the objectives, priorities, and framework of PMDDKY to ensure effective and result-oriented implementation across the district,” he directed.

The DC instructed all departments to finalize and submit their respective detailed action plan by tomorrow without fail, underscoring the importance of timely submission for proper consolidation, scrutiny, and onward submission to the Central Government. He further stressed that the Annual Action Plan should be realistic, outcome-driven, and responsive to the developmental requirements of the agriculture and allied sectors in Kishtwar.

The Departmental heads presented the status of preliminary planning and received specific directions for aligning their proposals with the strategic goals of the scheme. The Deputy Commissioner encouraged innovation, convergence of efforts, and optimal utilization of resources to maximize the scheme’s impact at the grassroots level. The meeting was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer Kushal Chandel, Inspector Fisheries, besides other Officers and Concerned Staff.
