RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan today conducted an extensive tour of Ramban town to inspect the ongoing developmental works and review the civic issues, including sanitation and public amenities. During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban Varunjeet Singh Charak, Additional SP Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Dy. SP Traffic Sajjad Khan and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of the developmental projects being executed under different schemes across the town. He instructed the concerned agency to expedite the construction of the bridge over the Chenab River, which will connect Ramban National Highway with the Gool Road. He said that its completion will significantly improve connectivity between Ramban, Gool and adjoining areas. He also issued directions for effective regulation of one way traffic movement near the construction sites.
The DC asked the Municipal Council Ramban to accelerate all ongoing developmental works and maintain high standards of quality. He directed all agencies to immediately start the approved works and ensure their timely completion to meet the developmental needs of Ramban town. While inspecting lanes and drains, particularly around Government Model Higher Secondary School Ramban, the Deputy Commissioner instructed civic authorities to undertake immediate measures for proper maintenance and cleanliness to facilitate local residents and pedestrians.
The DC also issued strict directions regarding eviction of roadside encroachments. He asked the Municipal Council and Police authorities to remove all goods and materials placed by shopkeepers outside their shops, especially in walking and parking areas, as these obstruct movement and contribute to traffic congestion. The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments and stakeholders to work in coordination to ensure improved civic amenities, better traffic regulation and a clean, encroachment-free Ramban town.
