JAMMU: Narayana Schools marked National Sports Day with energetic celebrations across its campuses, where students aged 4 to 10 yearsenthusiastically participated in a wide range of sporting activities. The day featured engaging events such as Kangaroo Jump Race, Pin Down Challenge, ELF Express Relay, Building Hula Hut, 30-metre Hurdle Race, Under/Over Relay, and Stuff Relay. These games were designed to ensure that every child had the opportunity to take part, creating an atmosphere of joy, teamwork, and healthy competition.

The celebrations reflected Narayana Schools’ belief that education is complete only when academics go hand in hand with physical fitness, creativity, and discipline. Through these activities, students not only enjoyed the spirit of play but also absorbed life skills like resilience, teamwork, and confidence, values that prepare them to face challenges beyond the classroom.

As part of the celebrations, Narayana also felicitated its outstanding sports achievers with monetary rewards, acknowledging their dedication and accomplishments at state and national levels. This recognition underlined the institution’s strong support for students in chasing their dreams in sports alongside academics.

The event also paid tribute to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand (1905–1979), who led India to three Olympic gold medals and became world-renowned as the “Hockey Wizard.” In 2012, the Government of India declared his birthday, August 29, as National Sports Day to honour his legacy and inspire future generations.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Sindhura Narayana, Director of Narayana Educational Institutions, said:

“"National Sports Day is a reminder that true education lies in nurturing the mind, body, and spirit together. At Narayana, we are committed to shaping well-rounded individuals by recognising achievers and encouraging every child to embrace sports with passion and confidence, and chase their dreams whole-heartedly, because at Narayana, your dreams are our dreams.

With over 46 years of legacy in education, Narayana Schools has consistently focused on nurturing well-rounded achievers by blending strong academics with co-curricular and sporting opportunities. The National Sports Day celebrations once again reflected this vision, encouraging students to dream big, build character, and pursue excellence both in classrooms and on the playing field
