NEW DELHI: The spirit of innovation and collaboration was on full display at Hack4Health – The HealthTech Hackathon, held recently at the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi). Organized by the IIITD Innovation & Incubation Center (IIITD-IC) and sponsored by HORIBA India under its CSR initiative, the two-day event brought together bright minds from across the country to develop AI and data-driven solutions for critical healthcare challenges.

This year's hackathon saw enthusiastic participation from 243 teams, comprising students, professionals, and early-stage innovators from across India. The offline round featured 65 shortlisted teams, selected from a pool of high-quality entries received during the national-level pitch submission phase held in May–June 2025.

Over an intense 36-hour period, participants worked on real-world healthcare problems revealed on the spot. The problem statements were focused on smarter preventive care, universal healthcare access, smart diagnostics using minimal data, medication adherence and affordability, and emergency response solutions requiring teams to apply their skills in AI, data science, design, and domain understanding.

The hackathon comprised two structured mentoring and evaluation sessions, a 24-hour coding sprint, and multiple networking opportunities. This intensive process culminated in the shortlisting of the top 10 teams, who then presented their solutions before an esteemed jury panel comprising Dr. Ruchi Singh, Dr. Megha Sharma, Prof. Neetu Singh, Dr. Vinish Kathuria, and Mr. Addison Appu.

The winning team, Elite Achievers, was awarded the first prize of ₹80,000 for their solution on Emergency Response & First Line of Cure, which proposed a smart, real-time support system for immediate medical intervention during critical situations. The second and third prizes went to Oxi Wizards and Zackers, who worked on Smarter Preventive Care and Smart Diagnostics with Minimal Data, respectively, followed by runner-up recognitions. All participating teams in the offline round received certificates, merchandise, and participation goodies.
