• DC joins mass recitation at Govt Women College

KATHUA: The first phase of the 150th anniversary Vande Mataram celebration concluded today with a vibrant mass recitation of the National Song at Government Degree College for Women, Kathua. Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma participated in the programme, which saw an overwhelming response from students and citizens. The jam-packed auditorium reflected the heightened patriotic fervour and collective spirit of the participants.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the week-long activities organised across the district as part of the celebration. He informed that a series of mass recitations, unity padyatras, quiz competitions, cultural performances and awareness activities were organised in educational institutions, colleges, panchayats and urban local bodies. The campaign witnessed active involvement of students, youth groups, community organisations and the general public, aimed at reconnecting people with the essence and legacy of the National Song.

Similar events were organised in all administrative units of the district, including tehsils and blocks, where officers coordinated community-level participation. Special drives, morning assemblies, school-level renditions and public gatherings were held throughout the week to ensure widespread outreach and inclusiveness.

The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of all departments, institutions and local bodies for making the first phase of the campaign a success and urged continued participation in the upcoming phases to keep the patriotic momentum alive across the district.
