DODA: The ICDS Doda on Friday organised a grand Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 celebration event themed “Nourishing a Healthier India,” here at Town Hall.  The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh as the Chief Guest.   District Programme Officer ICDS, Akhtar Hussain Qazi coordinated the program, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from Anganwadi workers, Supervisors of ICDS Projects and officers of other departments.

The event featured attractive Poshan-themed stalls, highlighting diet diversity, child nutrition, maternal health, anaemia prevention and the importance of locally available nutritious foods. The tone was set by a soulful recitation of Vanda Matram followed by a series of vibrant cultural performances presented children from Anganwadi Centres, Anganwadi workers and students from different government schools and Colleges. Skits and demonstrations, focusing on healthy eating habits, hygiene, early childhood nutrition and community involvement in Poshan Abhiyaan added significant educational value to the celebration. Supervisors also contributed by coordinating performances and ensuring smooth organisation throughout the event.

In his address, Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh appreciated the efforts and functioning of Anganwadi Centres and extended special praise to DPO Akhtar Hussain Qazi, for organising such an impactful and well-coordinated programme. He urged all ICDS stakeholders—workers, helpers and supervisors—to provide quality care, proper nutrition, and supportive early learning environments in their centres. The DC further encouraged the community to actively participate in Poshan Maah activities to strengthen the vision of a well-nourished and healthier society.
