BARAMULLA: District Administration Baramulla, led by Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, today organised a programme at the Main Meeting Hall of the DC Office to commemorate Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh and mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of  Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The Baramulla Administration, along with the local tribal community, joined the Prime Minister’s address virtually from Baramulla.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local tribal community. Chief Planning Officer Baramulla, Nissar Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Development; and other senior officers were present during the programme. Speaking on the occasion,  Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, highlighted the extraordinary legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, describing him as a symbol of tribal pride, identity, and resistance. He emphasised the government’s commitment towards the welfare and socio-economic upliftment of tribal communities.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, in presence of the Assistant Commissioner Development, distributed certificates among the participants who took part in various activities under Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh. This gesture aimed to encourage greater participation and acknowledge the contributions of community members in promoting tribal culture and heritage.
