DDC Poonch exhorts departments to expedite execution, ensure timely completion of ongoing projects

• Reviews progress under District Capex Budget

POONCH: District Development Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of works under the District Capex Budget, as well as the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and UT Sector schemes. The meeting was held in the Conference Hall of Dakbungalow and attended by district and sectoral officers from all key departments.

The DDC conducted a detailed sector-wise review of ongoing and upcoming developmental projects across the district. The progress of major initiatives such as the Parnai Power Project, solar panel installations, major PWD works, PMGSY and NABARD road projects, blacktopping works, irrigation and flood control measures, tendering status and various road and bridge works was thoroughly examined.

The status of projects being executed by Jal Shakti, Horticulture, Agriculture, ICDS, Education, Health and Social Welfare were also reviewed. Officers presented detailed briefings on the current status of both construction and non-construction activities.

Emphasizing the need for timely execution, the DDC directed the departments and executing agencies to expedite the pace of work and ensure completion within the stipulated timeline. He highlighted the importance of achieving physical and financial targets and called for optimal utilization of funds across all schemes to strengthen developmental outcomes in the district.

DDC urged the officers to work with dedication and maintain close coordination to address bottlenecks and accelerate progress across all sectors. The meeting was attended by PO ICDS, Khalid Hussain Wafa; SE PWD, Kewal Kumar; CPO, Mohammad Iqbal Zargar; ACP, Rakesh Sharma; ACD, Shakeel Ahmed, besides executive engineers and other district and sectoral officers.
