JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu successfully concluded the Valedictory Ceremony of the International HR Conference 2025 at Mandapam, IIM Jammu. The two-day conference, themed “Future of Fusion: Fueling Innovation, Resilience, and Sustainable Success,” brought together over 150 participants, including distinguished academicians, industry leaders, researchers, and HR practitioners from India and abroad to explore the evolving intersections of technology, people, sustainability, and organizational excellence.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, along with Dr. Mamta Tripathi, Conference Chair, joined by Conference Co-Chairs, Dr. Garima Saini and Dr. Sumesh P. Soman.

The event began with a welcome address, followed by a succinct overview by Dr. Mamta Tripathi, Conference Chair, IIM Jammu who highlighted the rich diversity of insights shared through keynote sessions, panel discussions, and research presentations. She noted that over 200 papers were received, with 112 presented across 16 thematic tracks, reflecting the conference’s strong focus on the intersection of technology and human behavior. She acknowledged the value added by the pre-conference workshop, along with collaboration partner IIM Bangalore, and the publication prospects for shortlisted papers.

She emphasized that the conference strengthened academic networks and reinforced the shared commitment to nurturing a future-ready and compassionate workforce. She expressed her gratitude to Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, and Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, for their guidance, and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the organizing committee, faculty, officers, staff, and students.

In his Special Address, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Rese emphasized the growing importance of human-centric, agile, and technology-augmented HR frameworks in shaping the future of work. He remarked that interacting with like-minded scholars and practitioners was enriching and noted that the conclusion of the conference marked not an end but the beginning of new collaborations and fresh ideas. He encouraged participants to carry forward the insights gained and continue contributing through evidence-based and impactful research.

The valedictory ceremony also featured the distribution of certificates and awards, jointly presented by Prof. Jabir Ali and Dr. Mamta Tripathi in the presence of the Conference Co-Chairs, Dr. Garima Saini and Dr. Sumesh P. Soman.

The Best Paper Awards of IHRC 2025 were presented to three outstanding research contributions: “Mind Over Machine: How Inclusive Leaders Transform AI-Induced Job Insecurity into Innovation” by Ms. Lakshikha Malik and Prof. Pooja Garg, which received the first award; “To Green Skilling and Green Behaviour for Future Employability: An Approach to Sustainable HR Practices” by Mr. Himujal Kumary Roy, Dr. Chiranjib Sur, and Dr. Sumant Kumar Biswas, which secured the second award; and “Harmonizing Digital Transformation with Employee Well-being and Collaboration: A Mixed Method Study in the Educational Sector” by Ms. Sarita Peddi and Ms. Geetha Manoharan, which received the third award.

Another significant highlight of the evening was the presentation of the book “Leadership Excellence: Cognitive and Emotional Competencies That Matter” by participantMs. Sulekha Chandrato Prof. Jabir Ali and Dr. Mamta Tripathi, in the presence of the Conference Co-Chairs.  The book is authored by Ashis Sen, PhD; M.P. Eshwar; and Sulekha Chandra. The book draws from in-depth interviews with CEOs and Board Members of Fortune 500 companies, business leaders across diverse sectors, senior bureaucrats, academic heads from premier institutions such as IIPA and IIMs, renowned sportspersons, and emerging entrepreneurs.

The ceremony concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sumesh P. Soman, who acknowledged the contributions of the faculty, staff, students, industry partners, and delegates for their collective efforts in making IHRC 2025 a resounding success. The event culminated with the National Anthem, followed by a group photograph.

The final day of the conference showcased impactful research across four transformative tracks, highlighting the dynamic interplay between sustainability, technology, well-being, and the future of work. The Sustainability Transitions, CSR, and Employee Well-being track presented insights into responsible business practices, green identity, gamified learning, and leadership behaviours that shape employee motivation and holistic development. The Green HRM track emphasized green skilling, environmental responsibility, and the strategic role of HR in fostering ecological consciousness within organizations.

The Technology and Well-being track explored the implications of digital transformation, including technostress, AI-enabled HR processes, digital empathy, and the influence of generative AI on modern workplaces. The Future of Work track offered forward-looking perspectives on smart technologies, inclusive leadership, hybrid work models, agility, and the competencies required for Industry 5.0.

The meaningful culmination of IHRC 2025 reflects IIM Jammu’s unwavering commitment to promoting thought leadership, nurturing academic excellence, and advancing transformative ideas that shape the future of agile and sustainable HR. With this milestone, the Institute continues to build a dynamic global platform that inspires innovation, strengthens industry–academia collaboration, and propels the evolving world of work toward greater impact and resilience.
